# Blockstack Update

I last wrote about [Blockstack](https://blockstack.org/) early in 2016 when the team [announced the goals of the project](http://continuations.com/post/139970467265/announcing-blockstack-decentralized-dns-and). Since then a lot of progress has been made. The team has [released a browser](https://blockstack.org/blog/introducing-the-blockstack-browser-a-gateway-to-a-new-decentralized-internet) which is now [available for Mac, Windows and Linux](https://blockstack.org/install). They have [published several papers](https://blockstack.org/papers), including a couple in peer reviewed journals. The latest paper [introduces the Blockstack token](https://blockstack.org/tokenpaper.pdf). In the meantime people have started to build applications [using the BlockstackJS framework](http://blockstack.github.io/blockstack.js/). If you are interested in writing an application you should [check out the available bounties](https://blockstack.org/blog/signature-bounties-for-decentralized-apps-on-the-new-internet).
