# Just One Little Wafer Thin Mint **Published by:** [Continuations](https://continuations.com/) **Published on:** 2008-03-01 **Categories:** vc **URL:** https://continuations.com/just-one-little-wafer-thin-mint ## Content This is the first post in an occasional series on negotiating. Imagine yourself in a situation where a clear bid and ask have been established on an important and potentially contentious deal point (e.g. vesting of founders shares). Now the other side proposes a compromise. The best strategy here is to listen to the compromise proposal but not react to it immediately unless you are 120% certain that the compromise works for you. Why? Because agreeing to a compromise and then coming back with additional requests on that point can have the same results as eating “just one [more] little wafer thin mint.” ## Publication Information - [Continuations](https://continuations.com/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://continuations.com/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@continuations): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/albertwenger): Follow on Twitter ## Optional - [Collect as NFT](https://continuations.com/just-one-little-wafer-thin-mint): Support the author by collecting this post - [View Collectors](https://continuations.com/just-one-little-wafer-thin-mint/collectors): See who has collected this post
