# Need Some Help

Years ago I had a run-in with [carpal tunnel syndrome](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpal_tunnel_syndrome).  I stopped typing for a while altogether and then switched to a split keyboard and eased back into typing as slowly as I could.  Thankfully the pain went away.  After some time without problems I got sloppy, put away the split keyboard and happily banged away on the keyboard of my MacBook.  Fast forward: towards the end of last week the problems in might right hand returned with a vengeance.

So now I am back to:

(A) Minimal typing, which means [even shorter](http://continuations.com/post/2152968714/email-overload-apology) / no email replies (sorry) and shorter / no blog posts (bummer).

(B) [Looking for the most efficient way to dictate text](http://www.jig.com/need/the-best-way-to-dictate-emails-and-other).  Voice input on my Android is reporting a “Server Problem” - is anyone else seeing this?

© Wondering whether for travel I should switch from my latpop to an iPad and if I can get a split travel keyboard such as the [Goldtouch](http://www.amazon.com/Goldtouch-GTP-0055-TRAVEL-KEYBOARD-GRAPHITE-COLOR/dp/B001QD8E2G) to work with it.

Any and all other suggestions are welcome here, as not being able to type quickly / at all really makes my job a lot harder.
