Philosophy Mondays: Human-AI Collaboration
Today's Philosophy Monday is an important interlude. I want to reveal that I have not been writing the posts in this series entirely by myself. Instead I have been working with Claude, not just for the graphic illustrations, but also for the text. My method has been to write a rough draft and then ask Claude for improvement suggestions. I will expand this collaboration to other intelligences going forward, including open source models such as Llama and DeepSeek. I will also explore other moda...

Web3/Crypto: Why Bother?
One thing that keeps surprising me is how quite a few people see absolutely nothing redeeming in web3 (née crypto). Maybe this is their genuine belief. Maybe it is a reaction to the extreme boosterism of some proponents who present web3 as bringing about a libertarian nirvana. From early on I have tried to provide a more rounded perspective, pointing to both the good and the bad that can come from it as in my talks at the Blockstack Summits. Today, however, I want to attempt to provide a coge...

As of last Friday I am off Exchange and my Blackberry, joining the rest of the Union Square Ventures team on Google and Android. While there are still a few small glitches to be worked out, I am happy with the transition.
Typing on the screen of my Nexus One is still slower although I am picking up speed rapidly due to the excellent auto correct. I do still miss the keyboard shortcuts and will have to find the native work modes for each app. I am genuinely excited about trying out some of the upcoming 4G phones and switching phones with Android is a cinch.
On the web side of things I have abandoned Firefox entirely and switched to Chrome. Still learning Gmail keyboard shortcuts but already finding I am very productive using the advanced search features. Now just need to install Office for Mac for some of the more advanced Excel stuff and Word track changes on deal docs. Then Parallels is coming off my machine.
All of this typed in the Tumblr Android app! Feels like a whole new chapter.
PS Apologies for some email issues related to the cutover - still playing catchup!
