As regular readers of Continuations know, I believe humanity urgently needs to act on climate change. In this context it is particularly appalling that the current administration wants to unwind the advances of the Clean Power Plan. The atmosphere is a crucial global commons. Everyone around the world is impacted by changes. The United States should be a forward looking leader, instead of dragging everyone back into the fossil fuel morass.
So what to do about it? Well today, Susan and I are joining Amy, Brad, Fred and Joanne in matching $30,000 in donations to Earthjustice. We picked Earthjustice because we believe this is an emergency and requires legal intervention, which they are uniquely equipped to tackle.
Here is how you contribute:
Go to our EarthMatch page on Crowdrise and give any amount (minimum is $10).
After you complete the donation, tweet your donation out on the post donation page. That will register it for our match.
If you don’t use Twitter, you can forward your email receipt by following the instructions on the post donation page. Tweeting is much better though as it will amplify the campaign.
As an important aside. Much of the rhetoric for the roll back is job creation. That is flat out wrong as solar energy has proven to be a much stronger job creator due to the many decentralized installation jobs.
So head on over to Crowdrise and get this matching campaign rolling!
