Philosophy Mondays: Human-AI Collaboration
Today's Philosophy Monday is an important interlude. I want to reveal that I have not been writing the posts in this series entirely by myself. Instead I have been working with Claude, not just for the graphic illustrations, but also for the text. My method has been to write a rough draft and then ask Claude for improvement suggestions. I will expand this collaboration to other intelligences going forward, including open source models such as Llama and DeepSeek. I will also explore other moda...

Web3/Crypto: Why Bother?
One thing that keeps surprising me is how quite a few people see absolutely nothing redeeming in web3 (née crypto). Maybe this is their genuine belief. Maybe it is a reaction to the extreme boosterism of some proponents who present web3 as bringing about a libertarian nirvana. From early on I have tried to provide a more rounded perspective, pointing to both the good and the bad that can come from it as in my talks at the Blockstack Summits. Today, however, I want to attempt to provide a coge...

We all live in communities and it is up to us to make our community stronger. There tends to be no shortage of people who want to contribute to that. But many find it difficult to get going: it can be hard to find others who share the same impulse and even harder to figure out how to get started. Very few people want to embark on a lonely climb up a steep mountain without a map!
Enter the team at ChangeX. Started by Paul O'Hara they are building a network for sharing community initiatives – both the knowledge of what to do and the people who are doing it (in your own and in other communities). This is the true beauty of the Internet: we can freely connect with each other and exchange knowledge to make all of us better off. All of a sudden the mountain looks less steep and there are fellow hikers taking the first steps along a known path.
That is why Susan and I are supporting ChangeX with a matching contribution to their Crowdrise campaign. If you give now, we will match that 1:1 up to the first 25K.
