Email Overload (Apology)

I have sadly reached a point, where two things are happening with email despite my best efforts.

First, I often write very short answers to emails.  These answers could easily be perceived as rude even though that is not the intention.  I remember that in the past it used to bug me a bit getting these really short replies back from people and now here I am doing it myself.   The reason this happens is because I try to reply to certain emails right when I see them instead of letting them get pushed down in the “stream.”  these are generally emails that I would be unlikely to get back to otherwise and so it seems to come down to a choice between answering them very quickly (e.g. between meetings) or not answering them at all.

Second, even despite my best efforts and super short replies to some emails there are still messages that go unanswered altogether.  This bugs me even more but I just don’t see a way anymore of answering everything that hits my inbox and theoretically should get an answer.  Apologies to all affected by both of these!
